On 22 May 2026, CyberSecDome co-organised the Management of Complex Threats workshop, held in Rome, Italy, in the context of the IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium 2026.

The workshop brought together around 20 researchers and practitioners from Europe and Asia to explore the future of AI-driven cybersecurity and the management of complex threats. Discussions covered a wide range of topics, including AI-based anomaly detection, LLM security, autonomous penetration testing, honeypot detection, cyber-physical attacks and topology-based cyberattack detection for critical infrastructure systems.

A key message emerging from the workshop was that AI is becoming both an attack surface and a defence mechanism. As future 6G, IoT and industrial infrastructures become increasingly complex, new approaches are needed to strengthen resilience, operational security and trustworthy AI-driven defence.

CyberSecDome’s contribution to the organisation of the workshop helped promote research exchange on intelligent cybersecurity solutions and reinforced the project’s role in advancing innovation for the protection of complex digital and critical infrastructures.
